A Genesis Witness to this Accident
The Director of Operations for Genesis Safety Systems, Leonard J. Cox, witnessed this accident occur in Tucson, Arizona recently. Fortunately, injury was avoided, but it was too close for comfort.
Children in the Back Seat
Riding in the back seat of the 2011 Honda Civic (shown in the photo above) were two young girls (about 7-8 years old). They were, understandably, shaken up but otherwise unhurt. The Honda was struck by a Ford F150 and neither of the drivers were injured.
Just a Single Second More
Mr. Cox estimates that, given an additional second of warning, the driver of the Ford pickup may have been able to react in time and avoid the accident all together.
According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) an additional second of warning for drivers of following vehicles could result in the avoidance of 90% of all rear-end collisions. Rear-end collisions account for more than 50% of all accidents on U.S. streets and highways.
Genesis has the Solution
I am happy to report Genesis Safety Systems has patented, manufactured, and is actively marketing a product (“Sure Stop”) as a safety countermeasure to rear-end collisions. NHTSA studies indicate features in the Genesis “Sure Stop” product line offers the opportunity for an additional second of reaction time; and can drastically reduce the number of rear-end collisions. Moreover, it is the only product on the market that continues protecting vehicles installed with “Sure Stop” after the vehicle comes to a complete stop.
Inferior Imported Imitations
There are many Internet retailers, as well as Brick and Mortar retailers, selling inferior gimmicky products that flash and blink. Second-rate imitations cannot begin to offer the reliability and safety features available in the patented pulse width modulation design of the U.S. manufactured “Sure Stop” Hybrid Integrated Circuit (HIC). The HIC, offered by Genesis Safety Systems, is a factory programmable integrated microcircuit that can be installed on existing vehicles; as well as programmed directly into vehicle BCM (Body Control Module) computers.
U.S. Made / U.S. Sold
Sure Stop Technology is manufactured in the United States, comes with a full lifetime warranty, and is designed to provide that additional second of warning for following drivers. Fleet Operations companies and participating New Car Dealerships are actively engaged in deploying this technology to enhance the safety of their vehicles and, thereby, protecting vehicle occupants. We just wish the Honda discussed in this article had been equipped with “Sure Stop Technology.”
